Dark City Poker League is proud to announce our second Heads-Up Texas Hold'em Home Poker Tournament to be held on September 15, 2007. This is a double elimination tournament, with each participant playing a minimum of two games. After two losses, participants are eliminated from the tournament. This tournament will be limited to a maximum of 16 partcipants, and will pay out to the top three spots. All Dark City Poker League rules and regulations shall apply to this tournament. In addition, special heads-up tournament rules (below) will also be applied to this tournament.
Each match, players will be given 5,000 starting chips. Blinds will progress on a timed schedule every 9 minutes, with each match capped at a 90 minute time limit (exception is the final round, which will continue until a winner is declared). A match winner will be awarded by chip count if both players remain after the 90 minute time limit expires. The winner of the match will progress in the A bracket, while the loser will move to the B bracket. Once a player loses a B bracket game, this will signify their second elimiation loss, and will be eliminated from the tournament. Buy-in for this event is $25. In the event that we have less that 16 entrants for the tournament, BYEs shall be played in absent players seats. If available, guaranteed first round BYEs will be available to the highest bidder. Registration for the Shreveport Bossier City Heads-Up Texas Hold'em Home Poker Tournament is now open. All players must register prior to the tournament date to guarantee a seat. Players waiting to register the day of the tournament will not be guaranteed a seat. No late entrants will be permitted to register.
Heads-Up Poker Tournament Rules
- These rules shall be enforced for all players during the heads-up tournament, and shall override any conflicting rules found in the DCP Rules & Regulations.
- Each player begins each match with the same number of chips. There is no rebuy or add-on.
- Both opposing players draw a card, high card is first dealer.
- The dealer is the small blind and acts first pre-flop and last post-flop.
- Each player deals offering a cut to the non-dealing player who shall be dealt the first card.
- Showing cards is allowed in heads-up play.
- Remember there will be multiple games going on the same table. Please refrain from commenting on other games. Also please respect other players during games by keeping noise to a minimum.
- An absent player's chips shall be blinded off at the rate of one hand every 2 1/2 minutes for the first 15 minutes of the match and every 60 seconds thereafter.
- There is to be no clock stoppage whatsoever. It will be the players responsibility to maintain constant play throughout each match and the tournament. All players have the right to call for a hand timer. Any player stalling the tournament (intentionally or unintentionally) will be penalized. First penalty: Warning; Second penalty: 3 minute table suspension; Third penalty: 6 minute table suspension; Fouth penalty and after: 10 minute table suspension. Blinds will be posted according to the absent player rule above.
